- Pinpointing good and bad evidence
- Customizing language
- Making recommendations regarding discovery, witness preparation, alternative dispute resolution and effective research.
Witness Coaching
Being a witness can be stressful, frustrating and intimidating. Dr. Meeks will ease any witness, non-professional or expert, into bringing their A game when the time matters. With the aid of video combined with calculated feedback witnesses gain insight into how they come across. Dr. Meeks evaluates the demeanor, credibility and delivery of the witness, emphasizes their strengths, and carefully approaches their weaknesses and what needs to be improved. While no one knows your case or your witnesses better than you, objectivity is an important part of understanding how your witness will present in deposition or Court proceedings. With thousands of hours’ experience in clinical interviewing combined with her legal expertise, Dr. Meeks is in a unique position to effectually prepare your witnesses.
Demographic Research & Community Surveys
Examine how demographics and perceptions of a community affect a potential jury’s decision making by completing demographic research and/or community attitude surveys. Demographic research provides an overview of the landscape of your jury pool; what factors are prevalent and distinguish it from other areas. Community attitudes surveys are carefully conducted to identify potential juror attitudes and perceptions with regard to specific issues relevant to your case.
Change of Venue Research
Change of venue research is conducted to measure public awareness and preexisting beliefs about a case in a specific venue. Dr. Meeks will work with attorneys to specially design a survey that will scientifically measure knowledge and bias. Surveys are conducted in the venue in question as well as in one or more alternative venues. Once the surveys are complete, analysis of the data is conducted to demonstrate a statistically significant difference in knowledge and bias between the venues which may then be used to persuade the Court to grant a change of venue.
